Apple could never be accused of bowing to public pressure.  Since the iPad was released a couple of years ago there have been calls for the Cupertino based company to allow real-money casino games, such as blackjack and roulette, into the App Store.  These requests have always fallen on deaf ears given Apple’s reluctance to approve apps that are even remotely controversial.

Apple finally caved into public pressure this week when gave 888 the green light to feature an iPad roulette app in the App Store.  The new roulette app can be played for either real-money or just for fun.  IPad owners also have the choice of playing 3 of the most popular formats of roulette: European Roulette, American Roulette and of course American Roulette.

Now that Apple have finally approved a real money casino app, it is widely expected that they will also give the go ahead for a number of other casino games in the near future.  888 are currently developing a range of blackjack and slots app for the iPad that are expected to be released in Autumn 2025.

The iPad roulette app is currently only available in the U.K. iTunes App Store, although 888 are expected to roll it out across a host of different countries over the coming months.  The iOS roulette app is available in the following languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Russian.

So far the iPad roulette app has been receiving excellent reviews in the App Store, which is hardly surprising given that it was developed by one of the world’s most popular online casinos.  888 were founded over 15 years ago and have been at the vanguard of online and mobile gaming for most of that period.
